Placing an object

Drag and drop

This is THE gesture: grab a thumbnail on the left and drop it where you want it. The preview shows where the object lands; on a wall-mounted object the target wall is highlighted, and the preview fades when no wall is within reach.

Click the thumbnail

Arms the drop (the thumbnail lights up): the next click on the plan places the object under the pointer. Enter puts it at the centre of the view, Esc cancels.

By finger

Tap the thumbnail (the drawer closes), then tap the spot on the plan: the object lands under your finger.

Copy & paste

Ctrl+C

Copies the selection, one object or many, keeping their layout.

Ctrl+X

Cuts the selection: it leaves the plan and waits in the clipboard.

Ctrl+V

Pastes under the cursor (otherwise offset from the original). One paste = one Ctrl+Z. A copy is always born unlocked, and a wall-mounted object reattaches to the wall nearest the paste point.

Another tab

The copy also goes to the system clipboard: Ctrl+V in another tab of the plan finds it again.

Moving & selecting

Drag

Grab a piece of furniture and move it. Chairs tucked under a table follow it.

Marquee

Drag on empty space to select several pieces (rubber band).

Ctrl+click

Adds or removes a piece from the selection.

Group

Drag a selected piece to move the whole group. Del deletes them all.

Long press

Touch: hold your finger on a piece to add it to the selection.

Alt+drag

Duplicates the piece and moves the copy.

Double-click

Rotates the piece by 90°. On a door, flips the hinge side.

Double-click the name

Renames instead of rotating, on the label itself: the box opens where the name is, with the text selected, so typing replaces it. Enter keeps it, Esc throws it away. A piece still carrying its catalogue name paints no label, so there is nothing to double-click until you have named it.

Shift+drag

Fine mode. The object follows your hand five times slower, so the exact centimetre becomes reachable at working zoom. Works for moving and resizing furniture, and for sliding a door or window along its wall.

Ctrl+drag (Cmd on a Mac)

No grid. Moves the piece by the whole centimetre instead of snapping to the 5 cm grid. Combine it with Shift for the real fine adjustment: the hand moves ten pixels, the object one, and it lands off-grid. On a Mac, Ctrl+click is a secondary click and the right button already pans here, so use Cmd; on Windows and Linux, Ctrl. Press it once the drag has already started: held from the very first click, it toggles the selection instead of moving anything.

D (hold)

Shows the live dimensions of the selected piece without moving it, or of whatever is under the pointer if nothing is selected. Release to hide them again; nothing is written or saved.

Even spacing

Select three or more objects lined up in one direction: the inspector shows the measured gaps and a button that makes them equal. The two end objects stay put, so on a bed between two bedside tables it is the bed that centres itself. With only two objects there is a single gap and nothing to even out. To set an exact gap instead, type it in the small box and press Enter: that keeps the first object where it is and pushes the rest along, because the block has to change size for the gap to be the one you asked for.

Resizing

Handles

Pull the handles of a selected piece, or an opening's width handles; the opposite side stays put. Hold Ctrl (Cmd on a Mac) to size it by the whole centimetre instead of the 5 cm grid.

By keyboard

While dragging, type the dimension in cm then Enter. Tab switches to the other side (corner), Esc cancels.

Inspector

Set width and depth to the exact figure in the right-hand panel.

Walls

Walls mode

The Walls button, or double-click on the plan. Furniture is locked.

Move a wall

Pull a partition: the two rooms it separates adjust together. Hold Ctrl (Cmd on a Mac) to move it by the whole centimetre instead of the 5 cm grid; Alt keeps its own meaning below.

Draw a wall

The Draw a wall button, then drag: the wall runs across and cuts the room in two.

Freehand

The Freehand button, then draw a path with the mouse: it becomes a chain of straight walls in one go, corners included, instead of two lines that have to meet exactly. The path's own two ends stay where you drew them, like a free partition; every corner in between is a true junction, shared by the two walls it joins. Alt keeps the path as drawn, with no forced right angle.

Alt+drag a wall

Draws a free partition: no right angle forced, no magnet, and above all both ends stay where you put them. A normal wall pushes each end until it meets something, and failing that all the way to the facade, which is why walls usually attach to something.

Length

On a selected wall, type the exact length in centimetres. It stretches the free end only: the other one is usually a junction, and moving it would break the room on the far side. A facade works too, by sliding the next facade along, so the corners stay square. Setting a length also makes a partition Free, otherwise it would immediately stretch back out.

Neighbour lengths

While you drag a wall, every wall touching it is measured too: you move a wall to size the room next to it, and that room is bounded by its neighbours.

Through / Free

On a selected partition, switches between the two: Through extends both ends until they meet something, Free leaves them alone. A free wall is still trimmed at the facade: free does not mean allowed to leave the flat.

Delete a wall

Select it and click the cross: the two rooms merge.

Facades

Pull an edge or a corner of the outline; Shift forces the horizontal/vertical axis, Ctrl (Cmd on a Mac) moves it by the whole centimetre instead of the 5 cm grid.

Rooms

A room is not drawn: it is COMPUTED from the walls. Click its name to open its card, or double-click the name to rename it straight away.

Doors & wall fittings

Leaf

The arc shows the swing. Double-click (or Rotate 90°) flips the hinge side.

Swing direction

The Swing direction button: opens inwards or outwards.

From the corner

In the inspector, place the door at an exact distance from the corner of the wall.

Windows, sockets, wall lights

They stick to the nearest wall and slide along it; the arrow keys nudge them.

How a window opens

On a selected window: None (fixed, or top-hung — it opens vertically, so nothing is drawn on the floor), Single (one casement, with Hinge side and Swing direction like a door), or Double (two casements meeting in the middle). Windows start as None, so nothing on your plan changes until you set one.

Several at once

Select several openings on the same wall and drag one: they all move together, keeping their spacing. If one hits a limit the whole train stops, so the gaps are never crushed.

Wall face

A wall light, a socket or an RJ45 lands on the face the cursor is on: drop it from the hallway and it faces the hallway. Drag it through its wall to move it to the other face, or use Flip side (R key).

Back to back

Two sockets (or two wall lights) can occupy the SAME spot on BOTH faces of a wall: those are two different surfaces. On the same face, they push each other apart. A door or a window, on the other hand, goes through the wall: it is in the way on both sides.

Projector

Throw ratio

The number on the spec sheet: image width = distance ÷ ratio. Enter it and the beam appears on the plan. 1.5 is typical; an ultra-short-throw is around 0.25, which puts a 120 cm image 30 cm from the wall.

Aimed at

Pair the projector with a projection screen. It then shows the real distance, the image width you will get, and whether the image is wider or narrower than the screen.

Min. distance

The closest the projector can still focus, from its spec sheet. Below it the beam turns red. Leave it empty and nothing is claimed: a short-throw sitting close to the wall is correct, not a mistake.

Measuring

Tape measure

The 📏 Measure button, then click two points; the distance appears.

Probe cursor

The cursor shows the distances to the surrounding walls live.

Exact dimension

Points snap to walls, corners and furniture so the measurement is true.

Display

Zoom

The wheel (or a two-finger pinch) zooms around the cursor.

Pan the view

Right-click drag, or Space+drag, or two fingers.

Fit

The Fit button: reframes on the whole flat.

Layers

The Furniture / Lighting / Sockets boxes show or hide each family.

By room / By kind

Above the furniture list: group it by room (Bedroom, Kitchen…) or by kind (Seating, Storage, Lighting…). Your own setting; it does not follow the plan.

Plans

File → Plans… lists your plans, creates one, and renames one by double-clicking its name. A new plan starts empty, and switching reloads the page.

Circulation

Show circulation shades the walkable floor; Circulation scores the layout. It also flags two objects left sitting in the same place — except a tumble dryer stacked on a washing machine, a rug under furniture, or anything mounted at height.

Together

Cursors

The other person's cursor and selection show up live.

Chat

The 💬 button at the bottom right, to talk inside the plan.

Sync

Changes are shared automatically; the status chip in the bar says so.
